Our Iowa Youth Leadership Academy and Iowa Youth Tour provide students with unique opportunities to develop leadership skills, explore the cooperative business model, and engage with their communities. Through hands-on learning, interactive experiences, and meaningful connections, these programs inspire young people to grow, serve, and make a positive impact both locally and beyond.

Guided by our commitment to community, Iowa’s electric cooperatives are excited to host an online program for high school students.
The Iowa Youth Leadership Academy is geared toward high school students who are interested in service, advocacy and leadership. Our two sessions will show them how cooperatives impact our daily lives and the career opportunities available to them throughout rural Iowa. They’ll learn how to advocate for issues important to them and hear from dynamic speakers!

Being a Leader
At the end of each live session, one attendee will be selected at random to win a $500 scholarship. Students who attend both sessions will be entered into a bonus drawing for a $1,000 college scholarship. All students who register online will receive a special box of co-op goodies in the mail.
