Join us for Franklin REC's annual Light Up the Night on the Saturday after Thanksgiving in Hampton! The festivities include a lighted parade, activities throughout Hampton at various businesses, and the lighting of Band Shell Park. Enjoy hot chocolate and treats in the park, as well.

Lighted Parade Information
Franklin REC is overjoyed to continue the Lighted Parade and Light Up the Night tradition at Band Shell Park located in Hampton, Iowa. We invite you to join in the fun and use your imagination to create a dazzling array of lights and sounds for your float entry. Use your artistry and creativity when decking out your display, as the floats will be voted upon by a panel of judges for Best Holiday Spirit.
The parade will be held on Saturday, November 30th, 2024 at 5:30 pm with lineup beginning at 4:30 pm. The parade route is set to start at the Hampton Aquatic Center and will travel through downtown Hampton to Band Shell Park where the floats will be on display during the Light up the Night festivities. For the safety of all parade walkers and attendees, there will be no distribution of items during the parade route. If your organization wishes to provide holiday goodies, please contact Franklin REC to discuss opportunities that are available following the parade.
There is no parade entry fee and courtesy of Franklin REC and Franklin County Tourism, power inverters are available to use upon request. The inverter allows you to convert your vehicle’s power into energy for the Christmas lights on your float.
The parade provides a terrific opportunity to show your holiday spirit and leadership in our community! With everyone’s help, we can continue building a grand tradition for our community.
