Bill Payment Options
Pay online with SmartHub
Co-op members can view and pay their electric bills online with this free and secure service. SmartHub will notify you when your bill is ready, past due, and so on. You can also view the two-year history of payments and readings of your account. Go to SmartHub to sign up now. You can also use your smart device by going to the app store and downloading the smart app. If you don't wish to set up an online account you can also pay with our Pay Now feature on SmartHub.
Pay by Phone
To pay your bill over the phone using a credit or debit card or check, you MUST call 1-855-3953 and follow the prompts. Be sure to have your account number, and you will be asked to create a PIN number so that you can make a payment.
Automatic payments
You will need only a bank account, a credit card, or a debit card, and we do the rest. You will receive your bill each month, by paper or electronically, and the payments are automatically withdrawn from your account on the 25th of every month. Complete this form and send it to Franklin REC or go to SmartHub and sign up!
Budget billing
Do you want to know exactly what your electric bills will be each month? After one year of service, you can sign up for budget billing and we will base your bill on the past 12 months of usage. Budget billing accounts are reviewed in May and November. Participants are then notified on their bill if an adjustment is needed.
Chamber Bucks
If you received Chamber Bucks, you can use them to pay your Franklin REC bill.
Credit or debit card payments
You may use MasterCard, Visa, or Discover card to pay your monthly bill. We have several options for using your credit or debit card. To pay by phone, call 1-855-940-3953 and follow the prompts. You will need your account number or phone number associated with the account to use this service, accessible 24/7. Although we no longer accept credit or debit card payments by phone in the office, we can accept payments in person at the office Monday - Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. June through August and 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. September through May. Members can also go online with SmartHub or the Pay Now option for 24/7 service .
Night depository payments
Place payments in Franklin REC's night depository box located to the left of the front door at the REC office North of Hampton. To avoid confusion, include the bottom portion of the bill with your payment.
Pay by mail
When paying by mail, payments should be mailed to our office at Franklin REC, PO Box 437, Hampton, IA 50441. Members should return the bottom portion of the bill with their payment and use the return envelope provided. Allow four-to-five working days for processing.
Pay in person
Payments are accepted at our office located at 1560 Highway 65, Hampton, Iowa, from 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. June through August and 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. September through May. We accept cash, check, money orders, or debit and credit cards.
First Bank Hampton
Your Franklin REC payments can be made at First Bank Hampton at 211 First Ave. NW. Please include the bottom portion of the bill with your payment.
